Successful completion results in a 2-year certification in Lifeguarding that also includes first aid, professional-level CPR and AED in one certificate. Prerequisites: Must be at least 15 years old and pass certain swimming requirements which include:
1. Swim 300 meters with freestyle or breast stroke
2. Jump in and swim 25 yeards, then perform a feet first surface dive and retrieve a 10 lbs. brick from bottom then swim 25 yards and exit shallow end using ladder
3. Tread water for 3 minutes
